How many pound coins can you sellotape to a golf ball?

It’s a weird Christmas present idea I have. I want as many as possible to form one layer over the golf ball. I will give a total of £10 or one golf ball’s worth, whichever is the greater.

This IS a serious question: I have to buy golf balls and go to the bank to get the relevant number of pound coins, so I don’t have the resources to test it myself.

      You should be able to fit 8 pound coins. I just tried it but it was quite hard without sellotape.
